Promoting Healthy Families

The Promoting Healthy Families study completed the final wave of recruitment for the parenting programs offered at various agencies in Ontario. We have a total of 517 participants, who have either completed the programs and study visits; are attending the parenting programs or are in one of the follow-up stages of the study. We are so appreciative of every participant for taking part in this study on whether and how parenting programs help families, which in turn will help other caregivers and children in the future.

With COVID-19 not yet in our rear-view mirror, there has never been a more poignant time to look at strengthening families. The Promoting Healthy Families Study aims to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of Triple P – Positive Parenting Program and Circle of Security Parenting Program (COSP), in promoting healthy family relationships, and encouraging positive parenting practices and child socio-emotional functioning.

Our team is collaborating with four child mental health agencies across Ontario, as we continue to actively recruit participants into year two of the study. To-date we have 235 families participating, with many approaching their final study visit. To encourage continued engagement, we have introduced the Hubbux Rewards program to new and existing families, allowing families to collect points for completing various aspects of the study, points are then redeemable for additional gift cards.
